Sony ericsson- A brand that unleashes models which give atleast something to every one in the market. One model of this kind is the Xperia X8 which is a direct competition to iPhone as well as Symbian^3 phones as it runs on Android.


It is available in market since september 2010. With 99x54x15m size it weighs only 104gm which is some what heavy but can be carried easily. It comes with android 1.6 that can be upgarded to 2.1 version and with a 600MHz qualcomm processor it is very fast. It comes with a 3" capacitive touch screen with 16M color support and is also enabled with sensors like accelerometer and proximity sensor. It comes with 128Mb memory that can be expanded upto 16GB with a 2GB card included in the box.


It is java enabled phone and also has a GPS facility for maps and the 3.15MP camera captures memorable pictures and also supports video recording at 30fps. It also supports 3G connectivity along with wi-fi for faster data access.


These features make it suitable for Indian markets.

Sony ericsson lately laid its leg into the android market with its latest Xperia X10 released in march 2010. The main characteristic of the phone is that despite its bigger size it weighs just at a 135gm. 

It comes with a 4.0" 65k TFT capacitive touch screen with 854x480 pixel resolution. It comes with a qualcomm snapdragon processor with a speed of 1GHz and a ANdroid 1.6 donut OS with the common ericsson customizations. 


The Xperia X10 supports the quadband GSM and triband 3G networks. It is also enabled with a wi-fi receiver to access the internet and also it can be connected to PC using a micro usb connection. Xperia is also enabled with a GPS receiver with assisted-GPS.


Xperia's internal memory includes a 1GB memory with 384MB ram also the memory can be extended with a micro SD card, which a 8GB card is usually included in the box.


The 8MP camera of the phone enables u to capture all memorable moments in a 3264x2448 pixel resolution. Also it supports a 30fps video recording. 


The disadvantages of the phone are that the memory is not so feasible to install applications and also it desn't have a front secondary camera to support video calls.


Though these disadvantages are not so particular with the features provided. Isay this phone is a best buy.
